Rated 1 out of 5 by Molly from Terrible battery I bought this product after having used the Anglecare sound only monitor for almost 10 months. We only bought this one because we wanted the video feature and loved the quality of our previous AC. However, the parent monitor battery life is a joke! It worked for a few weeks, but now it lasts 10-15 minutes off of the charger before beeping and dying. The point of a monitor is so that I can go freely around the house or garden and have eyes on my LO, but this does not allow for it because it has to be plugged in. Very disappointed. I would never recommend this model to a new parent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jobarr from Very poor battery life We have been using our monitor since our daughter moved to her own room in march. The monitor battery lasts 4 hours, so over night it is left plugged in to ensure I'm not unnecessary woken for low battery. The rest of the time (during the day it was unplugged and moved round house with us) it has been in use for just 6 months and the monitor no longer holds its charge. Once unplugged you only have to look at video monitor twice before low battery alarm starts. This is not a cheap product and I would expect far better quality. Very disappointed, wouldn't recommend unless you only want to use it for 6 months. Rated 4 out of 5 by Jon3 from Good Unit, Instructions and Interface are Garbage I like the features of this unit, but the instructions are not overly helpful in trying to figure the thing out and the user interface leaves a lot to be desired.

It took me many tries to do simple things like toggle the VOX mode (it's the microphone icon not mentioned in the instructions) or turn up and down the volume on the parent unit (you need to be on the video screen - it's not in the settings menu). Other than those issues I am pretty satisfied. It doesn't have the option to speak to the child but I'm not sure I care that much. Hopefully I don't run into the battery life issue that seems to plague these. Rated 2 out of 5 by Celeste529 from Great Features, Terrible Battery Life Was given this monitor for my baby shower, last November.

Daughter was born late Dec, started using early January. From the start, the battery only lasts one nap, 2-3 hours before going completely dead. Then it requires 24 hours to charge, but the battery indicator never shows full, always 2/3 full.

Therefore, it must always be plugged in. So, not portable at all if I want to work in another part of the house. I have to move the plug with me. I love everything else about this product, except the battery. Rated 2 out of 5 by Zsazsa13 from Low Baterry Life and Sound Quality My daughtbwas born in November. From the beginning I didnt use it much, and just started really using it in the last month or so. From day 1, the battery life was horrible.

At this point, it lasts an hr before it starts beeping for low battery, and it takes forever to fully charge. Also, the sound is extremely low. Its supposed to be low, and turn up if the baby is crying, but even then I have to strain to hear.

Had to buy a new one, because theres no way I can use this once my daughter is in her own room overnight, or even for naps. Also it starts making loud static sounds if the units are near each other, making it difficult to adjust the position accurately. And for the movement monitor, you're supposed to nail it to a wooden board.

Seriously, I paid enough, it shouldn't be this much work. Rated 5 out of 5 by CozyChicMommy from Surprising features This camera and motion sensor really surprised me. I couldn't believe that it actually works.

The fact that it can detect my son's movement is such a blessing. I feel like I can sleep peacefully through the night while having him in his own room. We are big on getting the kids in to their own rooms right around 3 months old, but it can be super stressful to move them away and not know if they are going to be okay. This system is awesome.

I can't wait to get some real use out of it once our household goods arrive. We just moved and only had two days worth of use. Rated 1 out of 5 by Will from Waste of Money We purchased this simply because we camp a lot and needed the ability to run the child end on batteries. The video quality is horrible, the sound quality sucks.

It has no talkback feature. You pay all that money simply for the sensor pad which we will never use. The video does not turn on when there is noise in the room so you have to manually turn it on. The product is not intuitive, you have to read the instructions to do anything. I expected more out of this as our first monitor was a $90 monitor from a different company and the sound and video was amazing. This product failed in everything it offered.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ChrisQa from Very poor battery We bought this product for our first born, the monitor did it's job for the first 4 or so months, from then the battery never fully charges, and if the battery indicators says it's full it lasts a few minutes. Once or twice it's switched off without alarming.

Our baby is now 9 months old and moves around in his sleep, the apnea alarm goes off at least once, have tried all the sensitivity settings. When sensitivity set high alarm does not go off due to the AC being on. Your Nursery Unit is pre-programmed to sense movement (and sound) the moment it is connected to a power source or batteries are put in it – regardless if the Sensor Pad is plugged into the Nursery Unit or not. Therefore, if no movement is detected, the alarm will emit one short beep after 15 seconds, followed by loud beeps in rapid succession 5 seconds later. To stop the alarm from sounding, turn off the Nursery Unit (using the Power ON/OFF in the back of the left wing), and connect the Sensor Pad (if not already connected). DO NOT use the AC1300 baby monitor with two or more babies, even if they are in the same crib, as the Sensor Pad detectors will continue to pick up movement even if one of the babies has stopped moving.

Furthermore, we DO NOT recommend using two AC1300 baby monitors in the same home, as you may experience interference. Instead, we recommend one Movement & Sound Monitor (AC401, AC1100, AC601, 1300) plus one Movement-only monitor (AC300) for twins, and two Movement-only monitors in the case of triplets.

Disappointed I'll first start by saying the main reason we got this monitor was for the talk back function. It is very poor quality.

The static is basically as loud as your voice and even at full volume it is very low. If my baby was crying and I talked back to calm them until I could go get them(I have two kids) they would never be able to hear me over their cries.

We tried setting it up in other areas but it's just so low and staticky. Also this monitor is HUMONGOUS.

It's extremely bulky not slim like the AC1300 or AC3120. The nursery unit is very nice but the parent unit is massive. Having a large screen is nice but why is the rest of it so large?!

They easily could have taken out some out of the bulk and kept the large screen. It is 1 1/2 X the width of my IPhone 6S and about twice as thick.

The manual is the worst manual I have ever seen in my entire life. It doesn't give any actual instructions! I thought we were missing something. It doesn't explaine anything in it. I called the Angelcare hotline to get instructions on how to do something and I said 'this manual does not explain anything' the women said 'oh I know I heard it is bad'. I looked up the manual on the website and it is NOT the same manual you receive in the box. Why don't they include the actual manual?

It made setting it up very frustrating as it says your camera and parent unit are already synced up but they were not. We didn't know how to make it work because the manual didn't tell us! The nursery unit is very nice and not an eye sore in the room at all. The video is very clear and night vision works very well.

Unfortunately the pros do not outweigh the cons on this one and it will be going back to the store. It's a shame we were very excited for this monitor.
